Change the old to improve the new

Hello World.

Isn’t it strange how we reflect on our past, in the present, to live in the future yet there is only ever an eternal now. Sort of pointless to try live in the future when the future doesn’t exist.

Right now i am changing this post from the past in the present for a future.

Within this technosphere surrounding our beautiful planet Earth we have many advanced gadgets. Tools to spark our minds, expand communication and release creativity on a scale never before seen by humankind. We have more choice than anyone has ever had before us. Realise that and thank this planet for providing it all for us…

Meditation Informatica

A while ago I was playing a meditation mp3 over some music to see how well it would fit and by accident, I found a good quote to fit over a progressive track I like. The track is Greppi’s World – Una Questione Informatica with the narrative by Alan Watts – Teaches Meditation. The result = informatica.mp3 (right click Save Target As…)

I typed up the narrative as best I could and credit goes to Alan Watts for speech, the whole thing is well worth a listen. Here’s the text:

We have a common saying talking to yourself is the first sign of madness, now obviously, if I talk all the time – I don’t hear what anyone else has to say. And so in exactly the same way if I think all the time, that is to say if I talk to myself all the time, I don’t have anything to think about except thoughts and therefore I am living entirely in the world of symbols and am never in relationship with reality. Alright, now thats the first basic reason for meditation but there is another sense and this is going to be a bit little more difficult to understand why we could say that meditation doesn’t have a reason or doesn’t have a purpose and in this respect its unlike almost all other things that we do except perhaps making music and dancing because when we make music we don’t do it in order to reach a certain point such as the end of the composition, if that were the purpose of music, to get to end of the piece then obviously the fastest players would be the best and so likewise when we are dancing. we are not aiming to arrive at a particular place on the floor as we would be if were taking a journey. When we dance, the journey itself is the point, when we play music the playing itself is the point, exactly the same thing is true in meditation. Meditation is the discovery that the point of life is always arrived at in the immediate moment, and therefore if you meditate for an ulteria movtive, that is to say, to improve your mind, to improve your character, to be more efficient in life, you’ve got your eye on the future and you are not meditating – because, the future, is a concept, it doesn’t exist – as the proverb says, tomorrow never comes. There is no such thing as tomorrow, there never will be – because time is always now and thats one of the things we discover when we stop talking to ourselves, stop thinking, we find there is only a present, only an eternal now. So, it’s funny then isn’t it? That one meditates for no reason at all except we could say for the enjoyment of it and here I would interpose, the essential principle [is] that meditation is supposed to be fun. It’s not something we do as a grim duty, the trouble with religion as we know it is that it is so mixed up with grim duties, we do it because it’s “good for you”, a kind of self punishment. Well meditation when correctly done, has nothing to do with all that, it’s a kind of “diggin’ the present”, it’s a kind of “groovin’ with the eternal now, and brings us into a state of peace where we can understand that the point of life, the place where it’s at is simply here and now…

More soon… Including snow pics .. YES! There’s been some snow!
:: peace ::

Let it snow, let it snow, let it SNOW!!!

Almost two months later and I am back .. I can’t say with anything interesting but I finally got what I wanted this winter, snow!

The cars, the trees, the pavement, covered with the white stuff! I grabbed a fwe snaps and I’ll try get them up here sometime in the next few days.

Happy New Year, I know it’s a little late but better late than never. Besides, with the lunar new year also here, it’s Happy New Year to everyone …

I haven’t made any new tunes, drawn anything new (that I can put on here yet .. hunts for scanner), or done many things creative. I have played cat veterinary to the green tiger – unfortunately, in a terrible accident, it fell down a flight of stairs breaking it’s tail, three legs and it’s neck but after a long stay in intensive care (make sure I don’t loose any limbs!) I have finally stuck him back together. Yey! Now he’ll hibernate until he gets to Australia.

It’s still snowing and the weather report says it should for the next couple of days… BBC 5 day forecast (for my workplace)

I need to get more in here, so stay tuned for updates!

Warning! Falling Rocks!!

Hello World.

PS: Look out for falling pictures, broken links, or collapsing sites – I’m doing a little ad hoc DIY to try get this site to bigger and better places. Check out the music link on the right ->

Alertnatively, click within those mysterious boxes under “gooooogle”! It might make you feel good!

Free music here!!!

It does depend on what you call music but, it is free because it’s mine! Like all others before it, it was “crafted” [ahem], in just a few hours and I’m absolutely sick of hearing the loops over and over, the same sounds, the same samples, the same noise – but I’ve heard it for the last 5+ hours so it’ll be fresh to you.

Christmas will be over with in exactly one week, that is if you go by GMT-0. I still have to get stuck in on Christmas shopping but now with working a lot over the next week, I am going to have to plan carefully. There are more than just wolves in the shops at the moment…

It’s now getting too late considering the time I have to be up tomorrow!
Hmmm, that ad to the right looks interesting, I think I might click on it! Feel free to click as many as you like!

New and Improved! No not this site, a tune!

I made “telly phony” in one day, start to finish but I forget when I awoke, or when the day started as I’ve not been sleeping and getting up at ‘normal’ times. The track grew and grew as I played and I tinkered, to what has become a monster! It’s a little dark, it’s a little weird, but the samples from the Matrix work well with the track.

I’ll no doubt end up going back to this in the future to better it even further, but until that day, you can enjoy the newer version. The link below will download the same version, but if you are too lazy to scroll down:

chipko – tellyphony.mp3 [right click and save as a small creature on your desktop]

As it costs money to host these files, if you don’t mind just checking out some of the links on the right, I’d really appreciate it!

I’ll try get some design work done on the site tomorrow so I can start taking it further. Again, too much to do, and so little time!
